Reality's Cure: 3 Day Weekends: St. George Edition

You know those times when reality is getting a little heavy?
Three day weekends are the perfect solution.

Especially when they involve:
friends
climbing
sunshine
camping
and yummy food.
The rain, lack of showers, freezing nights, off-roading, and not being in shape just make it more interesting.

Ben and I spent the weekend in St. George with Dave and Sarahjane. Ben and I had to share a sleeping bag the first night because it was SO cold. The second night we got a little wet in the rain storm, and Sunday night Sarahjane's blessed aunt and uncle fed us a warm meal, let us take a shower, and gave us spare bedrooms. Friday we spent scoping and setting up camp. Saturday was bouldering in Moe's Valley. Sunday was church and celebrating nature with some hiking in the valley. Monday was the tall red rock and harnesses and rope.

The first time climbing outside for a season is supposedly the hardest. This weekend proved that for sure. But, there is something wonderful about living outside, out of sight of civilization, with no pretenses, and the people you care about. With lots of sun added to the mix, we almost never came home.

Thanks St. George for a wonderful weekend!
Hopefully we'll be back soon.

These pictures are amazing! My hubby will be so envious when he sees them. We just moved to Sydney and he can't wait to do some natural rockclimbing at blue mountains!

Totally would not have been my choice of activity (I'd be worried about falling to a horrible death!), but it looks like fun anyway! :D
