Ultimate Guide to Summer Romance: Dating Edition

Good morning! Today I have some great summer date ideas to share with you courtesy of some cute couples who were willing to share some of their favorites.... enjoy!

Step 1 - Choose what to do:

If you live somewhere hot:
Opt for a morning date when the temps are cooler. Is there a fun spot for breakfast or coffee that you can walk or bike to from home? Go in the AM and enjoy the coolest hours of the day.

Also, don't neglect the late night date. Sometimes it's fun to eat dinner at home in comfort of the A/C {and it's cheaper} and then go out after dark.
-eating popsicles or ice cream on your roof
-taking a starlit walk around the neighborhood
-roasting marshmallows in the backyard if you have access to a fire pit
(I highly recommend experimenting with s'more combinations such as Banana-Nutella or Reeces-on-Ritz.)

Sound fun? Check out more date ideas for the summer heat here or just visit The Arizona Russums. I love seeing what Jen and her husband are up to!

If you're looking to mix it up:
A favorite date, and annual tradition is ...the ZOO! I know what you're thinking...the zoo is for kids. But I promise it is actually a lot cooler when you are older.

Some other favorite summer dates are:
beach days
miniature golf
carnivals
art festivals.

If you've run out of date ideas:

Whitney from Everything Happens For a Reason, has some great ideas I hadn't thought of:
1. One of my favorite is to go to a legit drive-in restaurant. Sonic, doesn't count.
2. Jesus Golf. This is the nickname that this mini-golf place has received, because of the heavy biblical influence it has.
3. Going to the drive-in movie is a summer staple.  Two movies for the price of one, plus the old school diner? You can't beat that.
4. Baking cupcakes. Who doesn't like cupcakes?
5. Taking the dogs to the dog park.
6. Shooting off fireworks for the 4th of July, which is one of my favorite holidays.
7. Eating ice cream from an ice cream truck or eating Cold Stone.
8. Watching a show at the planetarium (This was the date that cemented our relationship, and made us officially become boyfriend and girlfriend. We are now husband and wife).
9. Going for a ride on the motorcycle.
---

I hope you got some fabulous ideas here - I know I'm excited to find a zoo around here and go on a morning date sometime in the near future :) Thanks Jen, Kelsie, and Whitney for sharing

Check back for additions to this guide throughout the summer!
Love,
Elisabeth

P.S. Want to be in the next summer romance feature? There are just a few ad spaces left for July :)
